My ornamental tattoo designs are inspired by a blend of Western ornaments and Korean traditional patterns known as 단청 (dancheong). Ornaments refer to decorative elements often found in architecture, furniture, and art, characterized by intricate and elaborate designs. 단청 (dancheong) is a traditional Korean decorative coloring used on wooden buildings and artifacts, featuring vibrant colors and complex patterns. As an immigrant, I am passionate about expressing my mixed cultural experiences through art and design.

Additionally, my whimsical and lighthearted derpy & ignorant tattoo designs are mostly inspired by animals, especially pets! As a pet owner, I understand the desire to remember our pets forever and want to be with them forever. I also understand wanting to get a memorial tattoo after experiencing the final moments with a pet, as a way to keep them with you forever as my first tattoo was a memorial for my beloved first cat, Mia. This inspired me to design pet tattoos in cute, derpy ways so we remember the best moments with the pets we care for or have cared for. As a long-time pet owner, I realized that after losing my pet, sometimes the only memory that I could recall was their final moment, rather than the cuteness and loveliness they always had. This is why I wanted to create pet tattoos, so we can remember their best moments instead of just the final moments.
